Marina Krethecnikova, Director of Administration with JTI, and Kagan Ceylan, Founder of SPC Solutions, answer questions of RuGBC on LEED certification of JTI head office in Mercury Tower.

The interview discusses the sustainable features of Japan Tobacco International (JTI) new head office in Mercury Tower, whose fit out works are currently underway in compliance with LEED Commercial Interiors green building standard requirements. The LEED Consultant of the project, SPC Solutions, also discusses the implications and challenges of certifying fit out works in a building that is not LEED certified. The fit out project is located in the 75-storey skyscraper, currently the tallest building of Europe with a total height of 339 meters.

Conceptesign of Mercury Tower was prepared by Frank Williams & Associates, a U.S. based architectural firm. The working design of the tower was performed by Mosproject. Following completion of the construction works of Mercury Tower on a shell & core basis, JTI new head office on 5 floors of the tower was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) and Swanke Hayden Connell Architects acting as the local design partner. Engineering systems of the fit out works were designed by RBTT. The project management of the fit out design and construction works were performed by Knight Frank and Universum Project Management. The construction works are conducted by Mercury Engineering. SPC Solutions acts as the LEED Consultant of the project to certify design and construction of the fit out works under LEED Commercial Interiors green building standard.
